ABOUT ME

am a legal expert and consultant specializing in Art & Cultural Heritage Law, International Art Transactions, and Provenance & Compliance.

After more than twenty years of service in the Carabinieri – Cultural Heritage Protection Unit, where I conducted international investigations into the illicit trafficking of artworks in cooperation with Interpol, Europol, and European judicial authorities, since 2012 I have been working exclusively in the field of cultural heritage and the art market.

I am the CEO and founder of Art & Legal Consulting, an international firm providing legal and strategic advisory services to collectors, museums, and cultural operators, and the creator of Lex Beniculturali, a practice focused on the legal protection of cultural assets. I also collaborate as an external consultant with SLR Art Advisory and other European firms active in art advisory and due diligence.

I have also developed ArtCheck, a tool designed to simplify and make initial checks on artworks and transactions more accessible, providing a fast first-level assessment of authenticity, provenance, and compliance.

Through these experiences, I integrate legal, art historical, tax, and wealth planning expertise, offering a practical and multidisciplinary approach to the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage.

I am the author of legal manuals and essays, a lecturer in specialized courses, and a speaker at conferences dedicated to the circulation and protection of artworks.

My work is grounded in a core principle: cultural heritage must first be understood in order to be protected.
